Fire in the Hole!
*Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise. Proverbs 20:1
*Whoever loves pleasure will be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich. Proverbs 21:17
WARNING!!!!!
The Purpose of the Book of Proverbs is to help and guide you to live a successful life for God in every area of your live. Take heed of the word of God and don’t dismiss or ignore its teaching. Start with God—the first step in learning is bowing down to God; only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning.
Fire in the hole!!!!
Fire in the hole is an alert that an explosive device is about to be detonated. If you hear this you probably missed all of the other warnings and are about to be blown away!
*Wine*
Do not gaze at wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup,
when it goes down smoothly!
In the end it bites like a snake
and poisons like a viper.
Your eyes will see strange sights
and your mind imagine confusing things.
You will be like one sleeping on the high seas,
lying on top of the rigging.
They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt!
They beat me, but I don’t feel it!
When will I wake up
so I can find another drink?”
Proverbs 23:31-35
You have been warned…

FIRE IN THE HOLE!
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
I Can’t Throw the Stone
Not too long ago I was in a position to do some harm all by myself with nobody’s help. I had been wronged and I felt it was my duty to take action. In the eyes of a few well intended friends around me, not only did I have the right, but I was more that justified to take matters into my own hands. Some of these friends, out of pure ignorance, went as far as to put stones in my hands. Stones that I was now holding in my fist.
My heart was willing to overlook the offenses, but my hands were holding tight to the stones that somehow were clinging onto me.
*How to move my feet to walk across that bridge of forgiveness?
*How to wash my hands in love and not strike back?
*How to let go of the stones I had no right to be holding?
I called out to God for help, and with a single embrace of His love, these questions that had haunted me for days, were answered without one word ever being spoken.
… His love covers multitude of wrongs.
In His love I lost my grip to the stones I was holding in my hands. I couldn’t throw the stone. Who was I to cast a stone? I had been loved and forgiven many times.
I was not qualified to be their judge, but I was more than qualified to forgive them and when I did, I was set free from the hurt, the shame, and the sadness that was trying to drain life away from me. I forgave.
To Forgive or Not to Forgive… Is a question we all have to answer soon or later.
Get some insight from the Bible to help you make the right choice.
Truth
*Proverbs 19:11 A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
*Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.
*Proverbs 17:9 He who covers over an offense promotes love, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends..
Love
*John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved
you.
*2 Timothy 2:22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure
*Luke 6:3 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
*1 Peter 4:8 His love covers multitude of wrongs.
Guard your Heart
*1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from every form of evil.
*Proverbs 24:29 Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will pay the man back for what he has done.”
*Proverbs 20:22 Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.
Pray
*Matthew 6:9-13 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
*Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Love your brother
*Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you
*Colossians 3:13 Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Forgive
*1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
*Luke 17:3-4 Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone…
Thanksgiving Bible Scripture Verses
Put the happy, the giving, and the thanks back in…
*Happy Thanksgiving!*
A merry heart doeth good like medicine. – Proverbs 17:22
On Thanksgiving, too many people are preoccupied with turkeys, family gatherings, parades, football games, and even Black Friday sales. It seems that over time, this holiday has become more about getting things—whether that’s food, entertainment, chill time, or bargains—than about giving thanks for what we already have. Instead of focusing on what your life is missing, be grateful for what you DO have. Just do it –don’t just think it- Give a voice to your Gratitude!
Speak and Sing Thanks!
Speaking Thanksgiving
1 Chronicles 16:34 O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His loving kindness is everlasting.
Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Ephesians 5:3-4 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
1 Chronicles 16:8 – Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.

Psalm 95:1-2 – O Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving.

Can You Hear Me Now?
“As a man thinks, in his heart so is he” Proverbs 23:7
Just like a constant drop of water on a rock eventually leaves a mark on the rock, so will words when they are heard over and over and over.
Spoken words are powerful.
The numbers of words filtered through your ears is more powerful than their source. And even if you tried to shut down all the sources that you believe are a menace, you cannot shut down the one with the greatest impact. This would be your own voice. Whether you realize it or not your words are constantly defining your reality. You are defining your world.
Thoughts – words – actions ->>is how the movie of your life rolls. You think, speak and act accordingly, so be kind to yourself. Speak truth. Negative thoughts distort your self-image. Did you know you are your first best friend forever? If what you hear yourself saying is not helping you, then you might want to consider changing your thoughts for God’s thoughts. You may say right now… but what I say is my truth! Yes, you are right! You think about it, you say it, and you live it out…
Renew your thoughts.
How about you renew your mind? Even though you may be a new creature in Christ it takes time to renew your thoughts. I am still working on mine. It is on ongoing process. Create new thoughts based on God’s words. Redefine your reality with His words. His words are true. God is for you! He loves you, has thoughts of peace for you, sings over you, is with you and has plans for you. (Jeremiah 29:11) Why would you not agree with His words? They are life.
“As a man thinks, in his heart so is he”
Proverbs 23:7
Every time you put God’s Word into your thought life, you are making an investment… Change your thoughts – Change your words and Change your Life!

Sleep Tight~*
When you lie down, you will not be afraid.
Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet. Proverbs 3:24
Psalm 91
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flieby day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
Frustration
Dear friend, there is no need to throw your hands up in the air when things don’t go as planned. Resist the temptation to embrace frustration or to have a meltdown. There is no need to hide from the world to disconnect, and there is no need for you to try to find someone to blame for the failure. Frustration is the everyday bread to those who give up and that is not you!
So you fell flat on your
face…
Oh no!
What to do?
Just get back up! Go back to the drawing board and do things God’s way. He is more than able to help and lead you to success if you follow His lead! He will make your path strait. Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
There is one thing to keep in mind. We do need people in our world to speak truth and to council us as we prepare to make big decisions. We don’t know it all. If you ask God, He will lead you to these people so that you have all the insight you need. Even though you make your own decisions, remember as well that you can’t ignore God’s council and expect things to go right. A one-man band is only good for entertainment…

How to get it right?
~decisions – decisions – decisions~
From the moment we wake up in the morning until the moment we lay our heads down at night, there is one thing we all have in common regardless our personality traits and/or inclinations. This would be that we all make decisions, from the most immediate things like- What clothes will I wear? to more complex things like -Who will I marry? We all make decisions and making decisions can be challenging.
There are many variables and challenges that come our way everyday and without God’s guidance we cannot be on the top of our game. We need His help to get it right!
Only in Him can your path be straighten and only in Him will all things work to your benefit. Never give up in your pursuit to follow His lead because His ways are higher and better than yours. Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Remember, it is good to have plans, but follow His directions. When in conflict, your plans should always yield to His plan.
I would like to encourage you today with some verses from the Book of Proverbs on this topic. Please read them. From these verses I drew an acronym for the word PLANS. It is not meant to be your ABCs of life, but more as key components that should be part of your decision making process.

I Want a Proverbs Heart
Your pathway to success in everyday living requires you to pursue the Wisdom of the Lord.
Do you want a Wisdom Heart?
Do you want to be Teachable?
**You can acquire wisdom with a teachable Spirit. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. Proverbs 9:9
**Every area of your life where you are successful can be traced to a teachable spirit. If you continually have problems in a specific area, you’re most likely have been unteachable in that area. Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid. Proverbs 12:1
**An unteachable spirit is argumentative and defensive by nature. Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you. Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. Proverbs: 9:8
**Learning and leading go hand in hand. If you are unteachable you will always struggle with your leadership effectiveness. Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers. Proverbs 11:14
** A wise man is intentional in life! Purpose in you heart to listen, learn and apply yourself to godly instruction. A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel. Proverbs 1:5
A Proverbs Heart knows a teachable heart is the key for inspiration, guidance and Wisdom.
